poker no limit strategies
What is the best poker book? ?
I’m a novice poker player with some experience. I can read players sometimes and I play limit holdem, I’d like to move to no-limit, and I play semi-tight. I want to learn more strategy but I don’t know which book is best. I bought Holdem Poker by David Slansky but alot of it was poker jargon that annoying to read and confusing at times.
Any suggestions?
“No Limit Hold Em: Theory and Practice” by Sklansky/Miller is a good book as well as “Harrington on Cash Games” by Dan Harrington.
By the way, if you plan to move to no-limit hold em and have even the least amount of success I would suggest you learn the “annoying” poker jargon. If you are not willing to learn the nuances of the game you will be raked over the coals. This is true if you are playing limit and it is even more true when playing no-limit
No-limit is a whole different animal than limit. You have to think on each hand, “Is this hand worth losing my entire stack?” Starting hands and position considerations, which are important in limit, are magnified 10-fold in no-limit. Every decision you make has the potential of you losing all of your chips.
