the best poker book for beginners, intermediate?
I have to find more information on how to improve my poker game. I played a few times and I think I know the basics. I think more along the lines of strategies, such as when best bet / call / fold, how to bet / call / fold correctly, lights, etc, besides being able to see that others do not, but my words. There are many books there and not really know what is best for me. I do not want take only one book and have paw my way of thinking or have information that is irrelevant in today's game. If your help, I think I need the book to focus on limit games (As in home games with friends or in a casino), but also on strategies for playing no limit.
If you've played a handful of times, then you a beginner. This does not mean I do not know the color beats a straight. This means that you are not yet aware of the position of being able to describe how players behave or its range of possible hands, pot odds and implied odds, the statistical probability of your winning hand by the end of the hand. Those are the basics game, then starts to get really difficult. There is no book that will ruin your train of thought. All the books I read at least some useful nuggets. Some are too math heavy for me. I will recommend Super System by Brunson, and others, and Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide by Bloch et al. Both are for intermediates, but they a lot of great things. Both are dense with information and ideas. Take each idea and test it separately. You should re-read the books again in about two months, then again in one year, then the year ahead. You get more of them every time I read that your experience will help you understand what happened to your head. Yes, even if you are really smart. Alternatively, you can participate in poker forums like 2 +2 or CARDSCHAT and read articles and discussions there. At this stage Most of the concepts are beyond you. But at least you'll begin to understand what is involved in the analysis of a hand and find a way to play. Also There are many video poker tutorials on the web, like YouTube. Hope you can make a real difference between a parody, however. Seriously, poker can be a game depth to the subtleties of many. Or maybe a game of chance. Poker is much advice in addition to "keep your right hand, throw it away." Although it is a start.
