Many of us have thought about what would happen if a burglar while we were in the house. The Poker Club opened in this way. Aaron Tyler and his three friends are playing poker quietly in the attic, listening to breaking glass.

There has been increasing difficulties in the neighborhood. Guys know from past experience and the bottom edge to meet the intruder. It follows a fierce battle that ends with the bloody death of thieves. It has happened elsewhere and that surely will happen. Do you want to call the police, right?

But wait a minute. The thief bruises and bumps. He died for the love of goodness and strength of which this world has been extraordinary and excessive. But who would be the beginning of the police to investigate when they come in large numbers? Four to one was just a fair, but that is about to invade your house to a thief? A pendulum has swung too far in favor of offenders?

Against the best judgments Aaron, that allows others to persuade him that the best option would be to dispose of the body. Big mistake. From there, their lives spiral downward, but there is no turning back.

Ed Gorman has written a decent thriller here. It is easy to enter and is a real page turner. All the action is inserted in a period of not more than a week. It is easy to imagine how a Hollywood movie, maybe that is where their true roots.

I have a referral to a minor. There seemed Typing and have too many spelling errors in the manuscripts. There is no doubt that this is not the fault of Mr. Gorman, but if I was talking with my editor. Is reached to be irritating after a while and I was looking for the next, instead of focusing on the story.

Who was, and continues to work loved Mister Gorman. If you like the stuff of Lee Child, I think you will enjoy this one too. Recommended.

David Carter’s new novel “The Fish Catcher” tells the story of a group of children evacuated from London during World War II to escape the blitz bombing. It turns into a murder mystery and has been well reviewed. You can check out the first chapter on David’s website at http://www.davidcarter.eu
