New York will never legal poker while other states have done?
New York will never legal poker like many other states have. I will visit and floirda legal poker, I'm tired of traveling to play poker in places like Las Vegas and floirda jesey new and even what is expected from New York make poker legal in the Big Apple
As with most issues the government must "follow the money." See that would much to gain by legal poker in New York. That would be the community to play poker (not much political weight.) New York City could benefit from the tax base more (which would be a dramatic increase, very small.) Now, you may lose the legalization of poker in New York. Politicians think they would probably lose their jobs if the vote to legalize the "game of sin" game of poker. Is the same mentality against the drug problem in this country. No politician going to legalize drugs is clearly the only way to get money from the hands of drug dealers and violent cartels. It would be political suicide. Moreover, according to indicated by a previous poster, neighboring states that depend on revenue generated by players from New York probably a pretty impressive machine pressure job. These "lobbyists" are probably in the pockets of many politicians who are not about to stop the gravy train. Given these factors, NY probably never be legalized poker. The same is happening in the city of Chicago. The mayor wants (or at least lip service) of a casino in the City of Chicago. However, lobbying machine of the suburbs and Indiana casinos fighting tooth and nail to prevent players from Chicago account for 50% -70% profit. Note, I took the percentage air
